Bria Joshua
Bria Joshua is the founding member of B. Josh Law Co., LLC.
Prior to starting her own practice, Ms. Joshua was a judicial law clerk at the Louisiana Supreme Court in the chambers of the Honorable Chief Justice Johnson.
On a full vocal music scholarship, Ms. Joshua received her undergraduate degree from Xavier University of Louisiana. She later earned her law degree from Southern University Law Center.
During her law school tenure, Ms. Joshua was a recipient of the SULC Board of Trustees merit-based scholarship. She was also a member of the Board of Student Advisors, where she served as a legal writing and analysis teaching assistant to B.K. Agnihotri Endowed Professor Angela A. Allen-Bell. Additionally, she interned with Southeast Louisiana Legal Services, reporting directly to the managing family law attorney.
For the spring semester of her 2L year, Ms. Joshua was selected for the Texas Legislative Internship Program, hosted by then- Texas Senator Rodney Ellis and administered by the Mickey Leland Center on World Hunger and Peace at Texas Southern University. The opportunity allowed her to serve as the legislative aide to State Representative Ron Reynolds during the 85th Texas Legislative Session.
As we all well know, the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the lives of many. In Louisiana, particularly, unemployment rates nearly tripled at the height of the pandemic. During the summer of 2021, Ms. Joshua accepted a position as an Administrative Law Judge for the Louisiana Workforce Commission. The opportunity allowed her to prepare, review, and conduct hearings on behalf of the state agency, concerning unemployment insurance benefits and related programs.
Ms. Joshua has gained judicial, legislative, and practical legal experience over the years. She now aims to apply her talents (both as a legal professional and a creative) back to the New Orleans community that raised her.
